Fleet Maintenance Manager

We believe that in-person collaboration is critical for TopView Group’s continued success, therefore this role will be a full-time, on-site position at our current maintenance facility located in Ridgewood, New York, with a potential move to Bronx, New York in the near future. Weekend and holiday availability are required from time to time.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, mentor, review performance, and administer disciplinary action of employees.
- Ensure that mechanics are trained on their specific roles and company equipment. Work with equipment manufacturers to contribute to the Mechanic Training Program.
- Set performance targets and goals and monitor employee productivity.
- Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.
- Utilize the maintenance and inventory software to compile maintenance history, be proactive in resolving issues, ensure sufficient levels of inventory, prioritize work orders, and complete preventive maintenance and regular maintenance items on time.
- Ensures that the shop, maintenance work, and records comply with OSHA, EPA, and DOT criteria.
- Maintain a culture that focuses on the equipment being in excellent condition as it pertains to serviceability and equipment uptime.
- Ensuring that the shop facility is in safe working condition and cleanliness are top priorities.
- Establish standards, procedures, and schedules.
- Manage payroll hours weekly, ensuring the utmost accuracy. Ensure all personnel adheres to the schedule.
- Assisting in resolving problems.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of maintenance management dealing with fleets of over 40 units, including any of the following: buses, trucks, and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of vehicular maintenance operations and preventative maintenance procedures
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience with inventory management and maintenance software systems
- Knowledgable in DOT, EPA and OSHA regulations
- Ability to establish priorities and manage workload
Qualifications:
Communication Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with server abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software, Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell. The employee must have the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
