We’re looking for career-minded, expert bus mechanics with a minimum of 5 years of experience, in-depth knowledge of DOT bus inspections, and a strong understanding of electronic troubleshooting techniques to join our team in the Greater Washington, D.C. area.

Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Bus Mechanic with subject matter expertise
Must be available to work a full-time schedule
Knowledge of state and federal DOT bus inspection procedures
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns with optimal and efficient solutions
Experience with A/C and ventilation system diagnostics and repairs
Advanced understanding of electrical and pneumatic (air) systems with strong step-by-step troubleshooting skills
Valid CDL B license (preferred)
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and scheduled preventive maintenance services
Lead or assist with inspections and repairs on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
Use diagnostic software and onboard computer systems to identify faults and initiate proper repairs
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engine issues, fuel systems, and powertrain components
Respond to emergency service calls and road breakdowns as needed
Supervise or collaborate with team members to ensure on-time completion of repair tasks
Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs in accordance with company policy
Train and mentor junior mechanics and new hires
Collaborate with vendors and OEMs for technical training and ongoing education
Participate in interviewing, training, and evaluating new team members as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of fleet reliability
Knowledge Required
Electrical systems diagnostics and complex troubleshooting skills are essential
Expertise in mechanical and diesel engine components, including internal combustion systems
Familiarity with hydraulics, air brake systems, fuel systems, and modern electronics
Deep understanding of DOT compliance, safety standards, and maintenance regulations
Capable of accurate documentation, work order tracking, and inventory use
Comfortable with basic math, scheduling tools, and diagnostic software
