Our rapidly growing portfolio of products provides a variety of popular adventures, including hop-on hop-off bus tours in NYC and London, special events such as Tea Around Town and North Pole Express, sightseeing and event cruises, bike rental and tours, walking tours, and Attraction Pass. We are also planning to expand to Philadelphia, Paris, Washington DC, Atlanta, and many other exciting locations.

As the Managing Director of London operations, you will have ownership of all aspects of the London business, including street sales, channel partner sales, operations, maintenance, vendor management, HR, and financial performance. The position will report directly to the SVP of Operations. Reporting into this role would be the Head of Sales (London) and the Head of Operations (London).

We believe that in person collaboration is critical for TopView Group’s continued success, therefore this role will be a full-time, on-site position at our current office located in the Covent Garden-area in London, UK with occasional travel required to our current bus depot located in the Durnsford Business Estate, just south of London city center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of the London business, including street sales, channel partner sales, operations, maintenance, vendor partnerships, and HR
  • Own P&L performance for the entity and ensure financial targets are being achieved or exceeded
  • Develop and execute the company’s strategic plans and initiatives to drive sustainable growth and profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to enhance the company’s presence in the market
  • Continuously seek to improve financial performance by focusing on new initiatives, internal productivity and better pricing from vendor partnerships
  • Lead new product launches and current product enhancements in the London market
  • Plan, hire, train and performance manage the team to ensure the team is prepared to adequately handle current work and future growth of the business
  • Establish and sustain a culture of safety, quality, productivity and customer experience across all teams
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, governmental agencies and 3rd party vendors
  • Stay abreast of current industry trends, market dynamics, competitor positioning and regulatory landscape to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage
  • Curate and maintain a close working relationship with governmental agencies, especially Transport for London (TfL)
  • Be responsible for obtaining and maintaining all required licenses and permits to operate our products in the London market
  • Ensure the business stays in compliance with all federal and local laws, regulations and standards
  • Standardize and document all operational processes and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
  • Participate in identification, negotiating and purchasing processes for new assets like buses, boats etc. to support company’s expansion plans
  • Manage work schedule and payroll for the team in compliance with local regulations and company policies
  • Regularly audit various functions to ensure compliance to established standards and protocols
  • Create and disseminate reports on a regular basis to update senior leadership on all relevant KPIs and business development initiatives
  • Create a playbook for successfully launching sightseeing operations in other European cities
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as engineering, business, logistics, etc.
  • MBA or advanced degree highly preferred
  • 15+ years of demonstrated leadership experience, in a relevant industry such as transportation, hospitality, logistics, etc. While experience in sightseeing business is preferred, it is not required as long as candidate has transferable skills and experience
  • 5+ years of full P&L responsibility at a VP or higher level
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial, sales, marketing, and operational metrics
  • Experience managing or working with international teams across different geographies and cultures
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, coupled with detail oriented mentality
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Hands on, self-starter with a can do mentality. Strong work ethic with passion for the job
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a passion for developing and motivating high-performing teams of 200+
  • Outstanding data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills
  • Experience with various productivity, project management and financial suites like Google Workspace, MSOffice, Monday.com, ClickUp.com, SAP, Netsuite etc.
  • Experience negotiating with vendors on price, quality and payment terms
  • Experience working in US based entities (preferred)
  • Familiarity with various transit, safety and environmental agency regulations (preferred)
  • Experience managing a union workforce (preferred)
