We own and manage the portfolio of brands, including TopView Sightseeing, Event Cruises NYC, Liberty Cruise, Bike Rental Central Park, and Attraction Pass. TopView Sightseeing serves over 500k customers annually, creating unforgettable experiences for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Oversees all aspects of the kitchen operation, including managing staff, ensuring food quality and safety, maintaining inventory, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with health regulations, by supervising food preparation, coordinating staff schedules, and monitoring kitchen cleanliness to maintain smooth service and high standards.
Responsibilities:
Staff Management:
- Hiring, training, and supervising kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and utility.
- Creating and managing staff schedules.
- Performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
- Training staff on new menu items and specialty items
Food Quality and Safety:
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling practices
- Monitoring food temperatures and proper storage
Inventory Management:
- Ordering food and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Conducting regular inventory checks to prevent waste and track costs
Menu Planning and Development:
- Collaborating with Senior Operations Manager to develop new menu items and pricing
- Maintaining consistency in menu quality and portion sizes
Financial Management:
- Tracking food costs and labor expenses
- Identifying areas to optimize costs and improve profitability
- Scheduling based on business needs
Kitchen Operations:
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations and workflow
- Ensuring proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness
- Addressing any issues or problems that arise during service
- Collaborating with Tea Around Town Supervisors
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicating effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
- Collaborating with other managers on overall operations
- Checking and responding to chats and emails
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of managing a team of at least 50 People
- Experience managing part time employees and the ability to command strong day-to-day supervision of hourly personnel in a guest services environment
- Exceptionally dependable, reliable, and punctual
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be a motivated, self starter with desire to create innovative, unique tours
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Computer literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Google Docs
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed
- Must have a reliable smartphone
- Must have availability to work weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) and holidays
- New York Food Protection Certificate
Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000 + 10% performance bonus
